I William Glasmann. mayor of Ogden. 1 chairman of the committee on resolu- ; tions of the good reads' convention. , road the report of the committee. ' which was adpted. The committor ( had some difficulty in arriving at a re- port that was satisfactory to all concerned, con-cerned, but finally this was accomplished. accom-plished. The report eliminates the specific declaration proposed by Mr. Glasmanr: Wednesday for the building of twenty mlle3 of permanent highway each year, but it provides for an automobile j tax based on horse power, l he proceeds pro-ceeds of which are to be used for the building of an interstate road from Roise tin the west to Cheyenne on the east, touching Salt Lake and Ogden. This money Is to be devoted solely io , the proposed hlg highway, and is to be aside from any appropriation made by the legislature, following Its custom for roads In the various counties. It is estimated that there are at least 2,oou automobiles which will come un- ' cbr this provision. At $20 each, on a basis of $1 ea"h horse power, this would uot $10,0011 a year. If the stata appropriates JIO.Ooo additional and the counties $10,000 more, a total of $120.. 000 would be avz'Jable for this bi . road. ; .
