Show CHARGES ASSAULT IN INFORMATION David McCul lough, & negro, must answer to the; district court on a charge of an assault with a deadly weapon us a result of a free-for-all fight in which several other negroeB took part at tho home of a negro woman wo-man on Twenty-fourth street the evening eve-ning of May '24. McCullough, with Lewis W. Strolhers, was making a strong bid for the hand of the dusky damsel when auotber negro uppeared on the scene and a general mix up with honors about even followed, until un-til McCullough suddenly whipped out a big revolver and began shooting. Strolhers was struck in the head by one of the flying bullets, receiving a painful wound. At tho report of the revolver U of Hie- negroes scatten-d like flying sheep, but were later rounded up by the police and locked in tho city Jail Yesterday afternoon District Attorney Attor-ney Harris filed an information against McCullough, charging him with an assault with a deadly weapon. |
