Show BOLD ROBBERY OF LOCAL PAWNSHOP Benjamin Wolf, proprietor of a pawn shop and clothing store at 140 Twenty-fifth street, was robbed of $500 in gold and currency last evening even-ing by three men who entered his place of business at 10:20 and bodily helped themselves to his cash box and i (led, leaving no clue to their ideality. idea-lity. Wolf had just finished waiting upon a Japanese customer, when the three strangers entered, (.no of them asking ask-ing to see a suit of silk underwear. Leaving his safe and money box open. Wolf turned to wait upon the prospective customer, who presently declined to buy tho goods shown him and started toward the front of tho store. Wolf suddenly discovered that tho other men were abstracting his sack of money, from the open cash box In the safe, but as tho undearwear customer cus-tomer made a movement toward his rear pocket as If Bbont to draw a gun. the proprietor hesitated to attack tho robberi. or even attempt to raUe an alarm. Snatching the money bag freru Its place, the men then ran out of tho door and separated, one going east on Twenty-fifth street, while his companions com-panions ran In the direction of Wall avenue. It Is thought that they entered en-tered one of the saloons nearby and, passing through the rear, made good their escape. Detectives Chambers and Wardlaw were detailed on the ease and soon . urrested two .suspicious appearing strangers In the vicinity of tbe railroad rail-road ards.
