Show TRAFFIC ON ROADS IS LIGHT With the advent of warm weather and the summer season freight traffic traf-fic on the various railroads centering at Ogden Is becoming lighter, and this Is especially noticeable In through business west and northwest. While traffic of this nature will compare favorably with the corresponding period peri-od of previous yenrs, Ihe fact remains that the dull railroad season is here and ecrythlng is likely to be quiet, in tho way of freight traffic, during the next few weeks. As a result of this condition, a large numbro of freight train crews have been laid off on the various districts of the Sal: Lake division during the last two or three weeks and tho present force has reached the minimum stage. Yard or switching crews in Ogden have also felt the effects of the dull season, and the usual force of slxucn or sevenictn switch engines and crews has been reduced to nine engines en-gines and crews, a reduction of almost flftv per cent. Yard master Pierce say 8 the "bovs" need a little rest after an especially hard winter and early spring and will be toned up and Jn good shape .o handle traffic during the laic summer sum-mer and early fall months. |
