Show industrial school BOARD hj-ld meeting at office of Secretary hollingsworth. Dr. G. A. Dickson Appointed as School Physician Joseph Burdette Parole Officer. Tho board of trustees of the State Industrial school, met at the office of Secretary C. R. Hollingsworth yesterday yester-day and attended to considerable business busi-ness regarding the school work. Dr. George A. Dickson was given the position of physician of the school, at a salary of $10 per month and the superintendent su-perintendent was authorized to employ a stenographer, who shall also act as clerk, tho salary to be not more than $30 a month and board. Secretary Holllngsworth's salary was reduced from $50 to $33 per month and It was not even Intimated that there would be any change made In the position. The hoard framed a communication which was sent to the county commissioners, giving the information in-formation that under the new law passed by the recent legislature the school would furnish quarters to suspected sus-pected incorrlglbles as a detention home. It wag decided to hold commencement commence-ment exercises for the grades of tho Bchool May 29. Joseph Burdette, of Salt. Lake City was appointed parole officer - for the state, at a salary of $75 and expenses per month. It was also decided that applications for parole would not be considered before tho June meeting of the board. The next meeting of the board will be on Tuesday, one week from today. The report of the superintendent was that there are now 138 inmates In the school, and that they are all getting along as well as could be expected. ex-pected. The school Is free from contagious con-tagious diseases. |
