Show METCALF BECOMES HEAD OF AN OAKLAND BANK Oakland, Cal., May 4. Former Secretary Sec-retary of the Navy Victor H. Metcalf has entered upon his duties as manager man-ager of the Union Savings bank of Oakland, succeeding William G. Hen-shaw, Hen-shaw, who has been president and general manager of the institution for several years. When Metcalf resigned resign-ed from the cabinet of President Roosevelt last December, he returned to California with the intention of resuming re-suming the practice of law, which ho gave up when he accepted the navy portfolio. Ahout the same time Hen-shaw Hen-shaw resigned from the bank to devote hl.s time to his private business and the place was offered to Metcalf, who accepted it. |
