Show W. H. LUCAS HERE OH BASEBALL MATTERS The present outlook for local baseball base-ball Is exceedingly bright. W. H. Lucas, Lu-cas, president of the Northwest league; J. J. Grim, and J. C. Strothers, the eastern baseball man, are now actively active-ly engaged In ascertaining the amount of sentiment in favor of the proposed league throughout the intermountara region. Strothers is now in Butte for the purpose of getting that city lined up, while Lucas and Grim are at work in this vicinity. The. latter were In Salt Lake Tuesday, and dropped Into In-to Ogden today for a brief conference with "Dad" Gimlln, F. N. Hess and. other local onthuslasts. They expressed themselves as satisfied satis-fied that the chances for Ogden's support sup-port of the game were excellent They were of the opinion, however, that it would probably be found advisable to secure an outsider to back the local lo-cal end and an effort will be made to that end. Lucas left this afternoon for Poca-tello Poca-tello and Grim returned to Salt Lako. |
