Show TAFT -PROMISES TO DISCUSS QUESTION DELEGATION OF DAYLIGHT ASSN. CALLS ON PRESIDENT. Idea Is to Begin the Day Two Hours Earlier During the Summer Months. Washington, May 17. President Taft today promised to take up with his cabinet tomorrow the question of more daylight. A delegation from Cincinnati representing rep-resenting thet national daylight association, associ-ation, called upon tho president and requested him to take the Initiative in a reform movement directed against the clock. The Idea of the movement Is to begin tho day two hours earlier during he summer time, In order to give longer hours for afternoon af-ternoon and evening recreation. It Is proposed that on the first of July the clock shall be turned back two hours, tho readjusted time to remain in effect until October 1. It was explained to tho president that little progress could be made in the direction desired by the session without the support of the national government. As railway mail schedules and national na-tional banking hours would be Immediately Im-mediately affected by the change, the president suggested to hl3 . callers that they take the matter up with Postmaster General Hitchcock . and Secretary of the Treasury MacVcagh.
