Show COMMANDER MARSH OF THE CRUISER YANKEE SENTENCED Washington, Jan. 9 Commander Marsh, who was charged with negligence, negli-gence, in connection with the grounding ground-ing of the cruiser Yankee on September Septem-ber 23, 1908. off the Massachusetts consL was found guilty by the court martial which sentenced him to a public pub-lic reprimand and the loss of forty numbers. This sentence, while considered con-sidered to be not excessive, was changed chang-ed by tho navy department, in view of the previous good record of Commander Com-mander Marsh and his zeal in connection connec-tion with hla duties with the submarine submar-ine flotilla to a loss of fifteen numbers num-bers Instead of forty. i |
