Show HEALTH LEAGUE IS ORGANIZED Aggressive Branch of National Movement Move-ment Is Successfully Launched in Utah. Salt Lake. March 3. Tho organization organiza-tion of the Utah Health League was perfected at a meeting held In th lecture lec-ture room of the Packard library last night. Judge W. H. King who waa to have presided over tho destinies of tho league was unable to be present on account of sickness and Dr. J. E. Talmage filled the vacancy very capably. cap-ably. The constitution and by-laws were adopted and nine directors were elected. elect-ed. Tho following are tho directors, who are given power to choose their officers and conduct tho entire affairs of tho league: W. H. King. J. E. Talmage, Tal-mage, John Dern, Hebor J. Grant, M. S. Brown of Ogden. c. S. Tlngey, F. E. Clark of Logan, Senator J. A. Hyde of Nephl and Mrs. N. A. Empey of Salt Lake. The constitution, provides that the dues for members ehall be $2 Initiation Initia-tion feo and 2 annual contribution. The object of tho league shall bo the promotion of the public health. It shall study the sanitary questions and needs of the Btato, shall assist In securing se-curing the enactment and enforce-j enforce-j ment of suitable laws for the prevention preven-tion of disease, and shall further tho dissemination of Information relative to the public health. It shall aid in tho movement to establish a national bureau of health and shall encourage and foster local health organizations as Uranches of the parent league throughout the state. |
