Show TO AROUSE INTEREST IN ART. Salt Lake City, June 20. J. D. Fairbanks Fair-banks has received an invitation to identify himself with the American Federation of Arts, whose headquarters headquar-ters are iu Washington. This federation federa-tion was organized at a convention of artists held in Washington last May, at which more than eighty art societies were represented by delegates dele-gates from s.xteen states. The -objects, of the federation are to unite. in fellowship fel-lowship all institutions and individuals interested in art and its advancement, to give voice to concurrent sentiment of such Preference to matters pertaining per-taining to the fine arts; to induct better bet-ter legislation and a more intelligent patronage of the fine arts by the federal fed-eral government, and to stimulate by all practicable means the development of taste. Mr. Fairbanks has sent his I acceptance of the invitation to become 1 a member and will exert every possible pos-sible endeavor to stimnate the aims sought by the federation. |
