This year's harvest of grain has yielded -17.000.000 tons, which ls about 1 - ooo. ooo tons more than last year, and 20,000 000 tons less than the prewar pre-war production. Allowing 7.000,000 tons for sowing purposes, 28.000.000 tons for the needs of the peasants and some 3.000,000 tons for the needs of the towns, there !s a balance of over S ooo. ooo tons the greater part of which, according to the report, could be used for export. In pro-war times RuBsIa exported yearly over 12.000.000 tons of grain, or 1j per cent of her production. Since then the sowing area has diminished di-minished from 222.750,000 acres In 1!H8 to 135,000.000 acres In 1922, whlio the number of livestock has fallen materially. |
