Show oo DEATH CALLS NOTED LAWYER Was Counsel for Sixteen Railroads and Author of "Plumb Plan" WASHINGTON' Aug. 2 Glenn E Plumb, counsel for the sixteen larger railroad organizations and author of the celebrated "Plumb plan" of rall-iroad rall-iroad operation and ownership, died Tuesday. Death was due to an nf-fectlon nf-fectlon of the heart from which h had suffered for several months Mr. Plumb, a native of Iowa, came jlnto national prominence In lilt when 'he advanced the plan for railroad operation that bears his name as a solution for the problem of post-war treatment of the transportation lines !then under government control an'i operation. INDORSED BY UNIONS. The plan was indorsed by railway unions nnd the Plumb plan league organized to urge Its adoption. Mr Plumb was active in the arfalrs of the league until ill-health foreed his re-tliernent re-tliernent last May Ho also continued his work as attorney for the slxte, n labor organizations until tho time, his last active appearance being before the Interstate commerce commission to argue the then pending general ratr advance case In the Interest of railroad rail-road labor. rn |
