Show ITHOR AND WRITER TO TEACH AT A. C. (Special Dispatch) LOGAN, May 15. - Dr. Garland Greever, eminent author and writer has been appointed professor of English Eng-lish at the Utah Agricultural college to teach one j:u during the absence ab-sence of Prof. Alvln Peterson, according accord-ing to an announcement just issued by President E. G. Peterson. Dr Greever hu; a d-tfiee of Du-tor of Philosophy from Harvard university. He received the degree of A. B iron, Missouri university uni-versity and the A. M. degree from Trinity college. North Carolina. Dr. Greever has been head of the department of English at Manitoba university and was at one time Instructor Instruc-tor at Washington anil Lee university and the 'University of Arkansas. Among some of the Important works of Dr Greever which have made him nationally known as a writer and au-thor au-thor is the book entitled "Century Handbook of Writing." This publication publi-cation Is used widely as a text and a reference in College English courses at various institutions Because of the instant success of the 'Century Handbook Hand-book of Writing'' the author was urged urg-ed to und' rt.ike other writings and as result he has now several years' work aluad of him. The courses that Dr. Greever will teach will be ' Advanced Writing, ' "Shakespeare." the "Modern Drama," and probablv "Dltcrature for Children" Child-ren" or World Masterpieces." |
