Show SUSPENDS SENTENCE , IN 'INS.? CHECK CASE J. Jonosi. charged with issuing :i check to C. R. Fisher of the Western I Furniture company, for $11 drawn on Ithe ORtlen State bank, without ufflc-llent ufflc-llent funds pleaded guilty in the city Icourt and was sentenced to lerve flvt days In tho city Jail. Sentence was suspended. There was a conflict In the testimony testi-mony of Fisher and Joney Jones testified tes-tified that when he gave the oheck to Fisher the understanding was that Fisher was to hold it until Jones who was sick at the time was able to deposit de-posit the money In the bank to cover It. Fisher denied that he had made an such agreement. He admitted that tho check had been paid since and requested re-quested the court to be lenient with Jones. Judge Roberts asked him if It were his intention to make a collection agency ag-ency of the city eourt which he denied was his intention. oo |
