Show White and Colored Farmers Far-mers in the U. S. ACCORDING vo a report of the Fourteenth (1920) Census recently issued, of tho 6 44$,- iH 336 farmers In the United Slates in 1920 5,493.359 we io w hite and 950.007 were colored, while in 1910 of a total of 6.361,502 farmers 5.440,619 wore iH w hite and 920,883 were colored White farmers thus represented Srj 3 per cent, of all farmers in 1920, as compared with 85.5 per cent, or prac- llcally the amc proportion, in 1910. Between 1V10 and 1920 the number of white farmers increased 57,740, or 11 per cent, and the number of colored farmers 29,124 or 8 2 per cent. The 050,007 colored farmer. in 3 920 comprised 26.257 Negroes, 16 213 indians, 6.899 Japanese and 63R Chin, it. The corresponding figures for 1010 were S93.870 Nfgroes, 24,261 Indiana, 4,66i Japanese and 760 Chinese. |
