Show LADIES OF CLUB DESERVE HIGH; PRAISE. Mrs. William Douglas as president o itiie Ladies' Literary club, with her standing committee, Mrs. N. J. Thomas, Thom-as, Mrs. R. B. Porter and Mrs. D. C. Eccles, is receiving high praise for the success of the Easter tea given on Monday of this week at the Berthana. Mrs. D. C. Eccles was chairman of the .event, but she was call' il to New York early on Monday and was unable to be present, so Mrs. A. R. Bowman vrith the following ladles presided Mrs. Douglas Watson, Mrs. John Culley, Cul-ley, Mrs. R. B. Porter. Those who had the fashion show in charge were Mrs. p, C. Eccles, Mrs. Douglas Watson ami Mrs. Leroy Bccles and Mrs. H W. Iunn presided at the flower booth. Here also the delicious fruit cakes donated do-nated by the Washington Market were disposed of by Mrs. Arnold Bowmau. The dancers were under the supervi- l Ion of Mrs, R. B. Porter, Mrs. Eliza beth Culley. Mrs Tied c.. Clark and tin Claude Zinn, while the chairmen ot the tea tables were Mrs. P. A Herd-' tl, Mrs. I. N. Fulton. Mrs Joseph Wright and Mrs. Edith Wright. Tie ! Misses Avon Rich and Florence Dunn were the young ladies who escorted Miss Kathryn Shufflebarger in her spring dance, and the lovely hats worn by these young misses were the creations crea-tions of Miss Dorothy Madson's Millinery Mil-linery company. Tin re were very lovely floral pieces in baskets, potted plants and ferns donated do-nated by the various floral companies compa-nies of the city, including the following; follow-ing; S. J. Hendershot Floral company. Kuish company, Dumke company, Og-rl Og-rl n Floral company and Norton Floral i company as well as Miss Huth's Flower Flow-er shop. A beautiful flowering plant donated by the Hendershot company w is auctioned off at the tea by Dean W. H. Fleetwood. There were a number of out-of-town guests present SI the even' and BeVer-al BeVer-al were the special guests of Mrs. William Wil-liam Douglas They are Mrs. Douglas Swan Mrs. Harry Leonard and Miss , Cooper of Salt Lake City. Among th9 (list of those from out-of-town were Senator Smoot who gave a short ads dress following the fashion show, and Dean William W. Fleetwood. Mrs Leslie Swaner, formerly Miss June ' 'Scowcrof t of this rity, had as her Fguests for the afternoon a number of I Salt Lake society folk. |
