Show Vegetables Are Held Back by Cold Spell Utah vegetables, scheduled to arrive on local market this week, were unavoidably un-avoidably detained by the cold spell of this week and will not bo ready for the market for atl cast a week, according ac-cording to reports from local grocers. Radishes, green onions and asparagus aspara-gus from local gardens arc on the market, there being an abundanco of this variety of vegetables. A few cantaloupes made their initial ini-tial appearance but there was no general gen-eral demand for them, it Is stated. Tomatoes continue to demand fancy prices. Cucumbers, spring beans, peas, new potataocs. bermuda onions and a large variety of other early California vegetables" vege-tables" have undergone a slight decrease de-crease In price during the past week. Reports are that Missouri strawberries straw-berries will arrive here tomorrow for local consumption. Thus far, none of the "Utah crop has matured, although al-though an abundance of strawberries is expected in about ton das. This crop together with other berry crops, is reported to be excep- tionally large this Geason. Grocers report that tho fruit crop is almost a total failure. |
