Eve a late today the atmosphere of the office had not settled down to normal and ihe girl clerks continued to jump nervously ner-vously every time a chair squeaked. The trouble was born when Wilford Young, deputy county clerk found a tiny wild canary on the lawn as he was going to his office. It was tame and he picked it up. Holding it cupped in his hands so that only its tiny beak and beady, sparkling eyes could be . aeon, Mr. Young walked into the county clerk's office and called the office force to see his ca'p-. ca'p-. tive. The girls camo running, being women and naturally curious. Intense action followed. Shrieks rang out through, the building as one of them cried. "It's a mouse," and the girls scrambled to chairs, desks and counters and hurriedly held their skirts close about their limbs.
