Mr. Ward :-iid The new system will allow each man much more time with his family and as ,i result should bring Increased interest in-terest of that man in the department The new system, as explained Is now being used In practically all of the larger cities and Ih considered the moat up-to-date of all systems used. The day shift men will now go on duty at 8 o'clock each morning and off at 6 o'clock, when the; may go to their home The night shift men will assume as-sume duty at n o'clock and will remain re-main on duty until 8 o'clock the following fol-lowing morning when the da shift will relieve th.-m. The shifts will change from dav to night and vice versa n the first "and fifteenth days of each month, the order or-der states. There was no doubt as to the popularity popu-larity of the new system among the firemen today They all apparently fell It was one of the best changes brought about since the advent of the new cit administration.
