Show AGED MOTHER HUNTS FOR SON Mrs. M. B. Anderson in Ogden On Countrywide Search For Missing Soldier I Mrs M B. Anderson arrived in I Ogden today, back tracking on a countryside search for her son, Joe I Anderson, a former soldier who has been missing for about n year. Joe Anderson was wounded In j Pram e while n member of K company, j 139th infantry. About a year ago. while Mrs. Anderson was living In Ogden, her son came, to visit her on a 30-day furlough From here he went to Texas and was sent to a hospital at Aurora, Colo He remained at the hospital for a short time and one day was reported missing. Mrs. Anderson has had traee of him since only once. That was at a SUgai factory In Colorado w hero the boy-worked boy-worked for a short time. Joe enlisted when he was 16 years old. A brother, Kenneth Anderson, a lieutenant, was killed in France. Working her way from town to town. Mrs. Anderson has isited hundreds hun-dreds of out-of-the-way places. She is past sixty years old, but despite her age, she is active and says she is j determined to continue lur scan 1 1 until she locates her son. or receives I definite word that he is deal. "If I only knew he was dead. I could rest content,' she vaid this morning, "but he was sick when he left the hospital and even now he may be In some hospPal. or he may have died somewhere and now lies buried in some unidentified grave. Joe was suffering from shell shoelr and an unhealed wound through the left shoulder. He was only 16 when he enlisted and I tried unsuccessfully to have him released " Mrs. Anderson left Ogden last January Janu-ary on her search She has traveled throughout the middle states, the northern states and along the Ba- I cific coast. In California, Mrs. Anderson An-derson said the authorities allowed her to visit every Insane ostium In the state, but she found no trace of I him. She did locate one Joe Anderson, she said, at Fort Leavenworth, but he was from Vermont, and It was through her search that she got him in touch with his parents, who hud long given him up for dead.
