L'tah Socialists Social-ists refused to amalgamate with the new party. The Socialists stand was that they j could not consistently Join with any! I political group unless the members of 1 that group Joined the Socialist party. The other elements declined to do this and, after considerable discus-1 discus-1 slon, the Socialist representatives' 1 withdrew from the meeting and held' 1 a conxrntlon of their own Both the Socialist group and the Farmer-Labor party adopted platforms plat-forms and the Socialist.
