Show PIONEERS OF UTAH GATHER AT S. L. PARK SALT LAKE. July 84 Over inr) pioneers were special guests at the f'loncer day celebration held In Liberty Lib-erty park today. Among the guests were II who came to Utah In 1S4 7. 1 he program was carried out under the direction of the Eaughters of tho Pioneers and the Daughters of the Mormon Battalion. Luncheon was served at noon In the bowery for the pioneer gui-sis and later a program was rendered consisting con-sisting of selections by the orchestra under tho direction of Clarence Hawkins Haw-kins and speeches by Qovernor Simon Bamberger and President Hcbcr J. Grant. Musical selections of the program were, Come. Come Ye Saints," William Wil-liam Clayton. "Tho Pioneer," music by Tracy Y. Cannon, words by Annie Wells Cannon, solo, When You und I Wero Young, Maggie, " Laurlnua Brewerton. clarinet solo. Gerald W hlt-aker, hlt-aker, and selections by the Juvenile soloists consisting of Robert Stafford. Leland Whltaker, Warwick Lamo-reaux Lamo-reaux and Douglas Hawkins At the conclusion of the program the guests were taken for automobile i Ides through the city and at 5 o'clock topped at My Shop, ' On oast South Temple street for tea . nrv |
