Show Everett McGowairWins Skating Championship ST. PAUL, Minn., March 1. Taking' first place in three of the four senior events, Everett McGowan of St. Paul, international skating champion, yes-terJay yes-terJay won the northwestern indoor skating association's championship at the hippodrome rink here with a total of ninety points, Charles Jewtraw and Joe Moore, of Lake Placid, N. Y tied for-aecond plane with sixty points each. McGowan captured first in the quarter, quar-ter, half and mile. The two-mile event was won by Moore when McGowan Mc-Gowan slipped and fell. Rose Johnson of Chicago, won tho women's events, taking first place in the quarter and half, for a total of sixty points. In the quarter Miss Jonnson broke the world's record for women, making it in -15 seconds. She held the previous mark of 45 2-5 seconds. |
