RALPH ROBERTS HOSTESS In the local chapters of tho Order of Eastern Star there aro some very fine conscientious women and numbering number-ing among thorn are the ladles who comprise the visiting committee of Miriam Chapter, No. 14, O. E. S. These particular ladies are known as "messengers "mes-sengers of choey" among the chapter members and on Friday afternoon of this week they wore honored as such when Mrs. Ralph Roberts of 2531 Fowler Fow-ler avenue, entertained at a very finely fine-ly appointed luncheon. Twelve guests enjoyed tho luncheon and a social good time followed. Tho decorative schema was entirely the innovation of tho hostess, whoso originality Is admired by all who have been her guests on various occasions. Keeping In mind the committee as "messengers of cheer," Mrs. Roberts carried out her table decorations to a nicety. Gracefully Grace-fully suspended above a lovely bowl of fragrant red roses was a representation representa-tion of the "Goddess of Love" and radiating radi-ating from this to each place at the table were streamers of red ribbon to which were attached tiny kewples, dressed jauntily as messengers with red caps and carrying miniature letter tags, bearing the inscription, "messengers "messen-gers of cheer." Inside the bags were slips of paper on which were printed various ways in which good cheer could bo spread every day in the year. The menu served was perfectly prepared pre-pared and served and the guests spent a very delightful afternoon. |
