Show THEATRES, CHURCHES IS SCHOOLS If BE CLOSED With the coal situation Jn Ogden becoming be-coming acute, citizens of Ogden are urged to uso every precaution against waste. Commissioner Miles I. Jones slated today that if the situation became be-came serious theaters, schools, churches and dances and other places of meeting would be restricted. Two coal companies of the city report re-port that they aro entirely out of coal and have been for several days. Raw-son Raw-son Brothers and the Lion Coal company com-pany have exhausted their supply. The City Coal company has about 250 tons on hand, its supply being the largest of any of the local firms. Commissioner Com-missioner Jones stated that several cars of coal had been billed to bis firm here but that the coal was confiscated by the government before it reached Ogden. The Rawson Brothers report a similar condition. Commissioner Jones, in speaking of the seriousness of the situation', said. Word from Acting Governor Hardin Bennion is expected and restrictions will be placed tomorrow. Theatres, churches, dances and public places will be restricted. "The railroad officials are confiscating confiscat-ing coal shipped from Wyoming and other states, but tho supply on hand in Ogden at this time, if distributed in the right manner, would be enough for a short period at least. Cooperation is what is needed and if this is maintained main-tained the' people of Ogden need not fear a fuel famine." " I |
