The meeting was called Saturday .morning and wha a"nded by a great many interested men of th city. The report of a special committor whiih jwa appointed to Invent icato thr ad visibility and feasibility of the plan was read and met with the approal of those in anndanc : Warren L. Wattls. president of Weber club, presided and O. J St;l 'well, seeretary of the Ogden Publicity 'bureau, acted as M-cretary t'harles H. Barton presented the report of the investigation committee in the absence of chairman H W Dunn, who had previously pre-viously mad a favorable report to Mr ; Wattis As spokesman of the commit-'tor commit-'tor Mr Barton said that it had been decided that 7,500 would be necessary neces-sary for the financing of the Ogden Fa-Stock Fa-Stock show and that 15000 would be i needed for the wild west show. The amounts for the fat stock show would b divided chiefly among three divisions: divis-ions: 12500 for advertising. $1000 for office expenses and $4000 for premiums. prem-iums. That theshow place would be I the Ogden Union Stock yards, so as j to accommodate the big show, was the 'statement oi the committee. Robert A Moves moved the ac-j ceptance of the committee s report and the appointment by the chairman of a committee to carry through both prop o if ion - Fred G. Taylor, president of the' Harvest Festival and Fashion Show organization, called attention to the fact that the Ogden Rotary club had considered the idea of a Wild West show in connection with the Harvest Festival, and that a meeting would be hr-ld during the week The dor I oi was readied to ask these commnii to confer vith a view of providing, for a general co-operative mnirmcnt toward a gala event in the latter part of September. President Watis immediately named tho committee, which will be organiz ed on Tuesday evening, thos.- n?md to carry through the two events being: be-ing: L. F Whitlock Dr J K Cajli-cott. Cajli-cott. B M Fox. Charles H Barton, Dr. Hoggan, Hugh C. Wood. C G Ad-ney, Ad-ney, Dr. H. M. Rowe and Fred Her-rincton. Her-rincton. This committee will confer with the Harvest Festival board on Tuesday-evening Tuesday-evening and will begin at once the compilation of necessary data on which the campaign for financing the plans will be carried through. In the informal discussion at the meeting, the fad was brought out that ,22 carloads of fat stock have already-been already-been promised for the show, that the event will not only be fat stock, bat ' for pure bred livestock, including dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, hogs and horses, of all division, being in- j elusive of all division! |
