Show Dutch to Resume Economic Relations With the Allies AMSTERDAM. Sept 24. It is semiofficially semi-officially announced that the Dutch government has decided to resume economic eco-nomic negotiations with the entente governments. German papers havo seized upon this announcement as an occasion to warn the Dutch that they are in danger of losing the rest of tholr merchant tonnage to the entente. Tho Cologne Gazette says: "The Netherlands govornment will not yield unless it obtains guarantees that its ships, if sent out will not bo seized in America, as were those taken thero last March." It is openly asserted by tho Volks Zeltung of Cologne that seizure is the object of the ontcnte governments and tho newspaper speaks of those governments' govern-ments' efforts to cause trouble between be-tween Holland and Germany over Duto ep- e foodstuffs. The American noto to Holland relative rela-tive to the taking over of Dutch ships by the United States is called by the Rhenlscho WeBtphalian Gazotto "a masterpiece of American perfidy." oo |
