Brooks of this city in writing writ-ing home gives some interesting facts I of what happened over there early in October. His letter follows: "It has been several days since I llast wrote you but I have not forgot-I forgot-I ten. Just simply lack, of time and I isuppose you can guess why. I can glo-iriously glo-iriously say that on the morning of the (censored) we went over the top and 'wo went over strong. Words cannot begin to describe what I should like to relate to you, however I thank God ; my life has been spared so far. What jwe passed through for several days 1 could never have pictured in my mind. Tho days and nights were thrilling. thrill-ing. Should I survive these 'coming events' and return again to you, will occupy a good deal of your time and you will think me a regular talking machine. ma-chine. "Was wounded the fourth day in bat-tic bat-tic and brought to the hospital last Monday but am getting along fine and hope to continue to, so please do not worry. "I can say this much that 'off comes my hat to the Red Cross every time." They have done and are doing wonderful wonder-ful things over here. "The hospital is located in a very , pretty city. All hotels have been turned into hospitals. This is a very fj rich community and a summer resort. m The stores are all on one building m .which is called a gallery. The build m ings are all stone, eight stories hifili and very pretty. It seems good to be M away from tho boom of the guns, but fl just as scon us we recuperate we will be right back on that firing line. 9- "Can you imagine, we captured twe M women fighters; also two boys 12 9 years od,so you can understand the ' enemy is working hard and running short of man power. We received the M good news this morning that Bulgaria was out of it.
