Mr. and Mrs. William Harold Loos and baby left Ogden last Sunday evening, even-ing, for Kansas City, Mo., where Mr. Loos' parents and other relatives will bo visited. PARCEL SHOWER. A parcel shower was given for Miss Florence West Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Wright, 228 Twenty-ninth street. The hostesses were Miss Gladys Wright and Mrs. Wilson Wright. Miss West will be married to Raymond S. Wright at an early dale. She was the recipient of many timely gifts and tho good wishes of her many friends who attended at-tended the shower. M. I. A.'S PLAN SOCIALS. ! The Mutual Improvement associations associa-tions of all the city wards of Ogden, Weber and North Weber stakes will hold social gatherings, as a prelude to the opening of the 1917-18 season, in the different meeting houses tonight. Tho season opens next Wednesday, OcL 17. Courses for the season have been outlined, and tho meetings tonight to-night arc merely social, as a sort of "get together" of the members of the different associations. BEEHIVE EXHIBIT AT FAIR. The exhibit of tho Ogden Beehive Girls at the state fair was highly com-nlimented com-nlimented bv Prof. J. C. 'Hoirenson when he stated that it was the best exhibit at the fair. Prof. Hogenson was in charge of the educational department de-partment of the state fair. In addition to this praise, the Beehive Bee-hive Girls of Weber stake were awarded a prize for one feature of its exhibit, an herbarium, constructed In the form of a small house. It was pro-pared pro-pared by tho Malan girls of the Twelfth ward. Mrs. Amelia Flygare, who is president presi-dent of tho Weber stake Y. L. M. I. A. board, returned from Salt Lako City yesterday bringing the message of Prof. Hogenson to tho Beehive Girls, and his invitation to them to partilc-pate partilc-pate In the educational exhibit again next ypar. She was in charge of the exhibit which was also returned to Ogden yesterday, during the fair week. The exhibit was composed of numerous num-erous articles of handiwork from strings of beads to quilts, made by the Beehive Girls during the summer months. They were first assembled for exhibition several weeks ago and formed an interesting feature of the annual "Swarm Day" program of the Weber stake Y. L. M. I. A. On this occasion, the girls of tho Clinton ward association were awarded a silver loving lov-ing cup as the fir6t prize In tho food conservation contest, every member being represented In the competitive display.
