Show CLOSII ROLES RAVE BEEN CHANCED SALT LAKE, Aug. 2 Notice rescinding re-scinding regulations providing for early ear-ly and uniform state-wide closing of stores, restaurants and other places in Utah was sent out yesterday by tho commercial economy board, W. F. Jensen, chairman; B, F. Redman and T. N. Taylor. Instead of the uniform hours of business fixed by tho board, the regulations will be formulated for each community by the city or county councils of defense. The chief reason for the action is that conditions vary in different communities com-munities and uniform closing hours may not prove universally satisfactory. satisfac-tory. Tho local councils of defense understand un-derstand conditions in tho communities communi-ties in which they live and can formulate form-ulate regulations in accordance with this direct knowledge. These' closing regulations alone are delegated by the board to the local councils of defense. All other requests and regulations will remain in force and under direct supervision of the economy board. Included in the regulations still in effect are: Restricted deliveries, elimination elim-ination of waste by discontinuing the sending of goods on approval,- providing provid-ing for the return of milk bottles, cotton cot-ton conservation, woolen rag conservation, conser-vation, furnishing of three kinds of Ice cream and ten kinds of fountain syrups, conservation of sacks, boxes, cases and other used containers. Among tho regulations for building economies still in effect are restrictions restric-tions in buildings and enterprises of all kinds, including roads, which will not serve a military purpose or the transportation of agricultural products. In the statement the board expresses express-es its thanks and the appreciation of the council of national defense for the patriotic response to requests made by the state body. |
