Show 1 OFFICERS BOARD mm-' 1 SpS?mAmR if ; ' I "There''' alwavs something or some-I some-I body taking the Joy out of life." This I Is the statement of a number of men resident In Ogden and Weber county -who have been brought to realize that the sheriff's office of Weber county do"3 not supply spurs to their feet on tho desk, but provides them with a speedy "Lizzie" and somothtlng more than tho average grain of common BcnBe -wherewith to let speed serve In tho apprehension of what seemed to bo a growing community of boot- jeggers uhoso happy thought that Christmas comes but once a year I urged them to do bigger, wider, more I careless business than ever before. I The little section houso near the station at Uintah had been the scene only a couple of days ago of a gcod haul by the sheriffs department and last night Deputies Woolton, Brown, Plncock and Burke went out into the vicinity of "the little storehouse" to see what they could see. There they boarded a freight train destined for Ogden nnd In the caboose came across two little handbags, the one containing 9 quarts of whisky, the other 11 quarts. They placed H. G. Kelly, conductor, W. IT. Button and C. R Cook, brake -men of the train, under arrest.. These gentlemen will appear before Judge Roberts tomorrow morning to explain or confess as their humor leads them. |
