HYMNS TO BE SUNG Professor Evan Stevens, former di rector of the Salt Lake Tabernacle choir and a pioneer composer of Mor-I Mor-I mon hymns, came to Ogden today and will remain in the city until tomorrow evening as the guest of the choristers land organists of the Weber Stake. Sunday schools. j Tomorrow morning, the veteran chorister will attend one of the Sunday Sun-day schools of the stake, and tomorrow afternoon the monthly union meeting of the state Sunday school workers. At the latter meeting, he will deliver an address on "Music" and all of his former pupils and friends are invited to be present Chorister Ellen H. Thomas of the stake board has planned to have a, number of Prof. Stephens' compositions composi-tions sung during the afternoon, among the list being "Utah We Love Thee," For the Strength of the Hills," "True to the Faith." "My Valley Val-ley Home" and "My Western Home " Prof. Stephens' "Utah We Love Thee" has been adopted as the state hymn. |
