At the great motor car show to be held In Ogdcn, February 8, 0 and 10, the evolution of the automobile will be demonstrated. Forty-two different models will be on exhibition. Experts will explain every part of them. Educational Purpose. The purpose of the show is to educate edu-cate the public regarding motor cars. Persons wishing to purchase an automobile, auto-mobile, or dreaming of their selection if they could afford the price, will have a rare opportunity at this show to find out all about the varioub models, mod-els, so that ever afterward they can talk learnedly of them, and give in telligent advice. All Kinds of Models. T will be the biggest auto show ever given in the state. Every kind of model will be on exhibition, ex-hibition, except, possibly, the Banker's Bank-er's car. "Pew persons in the west, even few of the dealers and chauffeurs, chauf-feurs, know about the magnificent Banker's car,'' today remarked William Wil-liam B. Taylor, general manager of the Cadillac agency. "It is a custom-made custom-made car and only 250 to 400 are produced pro-duced in a year. The Banker's car is made in all models. The price is anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000, depending de-pending on the materials, Some of them are finished aud trimmed throughout in gold or silver. The demand de-mand is. of course, limited, but many are in use In New York." 1917 Banner Year. Mr. Taylor said 1917, beginning today, to-day, will be the banner year in the automobile industry. All the factories are busy to capacity and the western agencies are preparing for an enormous enor-mous business The close of ihe European war will not affect adversely the motor car industry in-dustry in America, Mr. Taylor said. Before th war France was the greatest great-est motor car producer in Europe, aud only 22.000 cars were made In France in 1914. The Cadillac alone turned out 24,000 cars in 1916., In all Europe Eu-rope not more than 50,000 a year were made before the war The Oakland company built about 80.000 cars in 1916 The Ford factory fac-tory turned out about 300,000, the Studebakers about 60.000 and the Overland an enormous number The world's three largest factories, said Mr. Taylor, are the Ford, the Overland and the Oakland Preparations Elaborate This will be the second aunual auto show in Ogden. Elaborate preparations prepara-tions are being made this time and the initial success will be eclipsed The committee on advertising will provide 5000 posters, to be placed in every town in southern Idaho, western Wyoming, eastern and northern Nevada, Ne-vada, and down to Salt Lake and Provo Low round-trip rates will be granted grant-ed by all railroads, from every direction direc-tion The show will be held in the Dee-Bcclefl Dee-Bcclefl building. 00 |
