Show 'HORRESSEY RESOLVES TO 'STAY 1 OQDEN TO PROVE ... HrS FIGHTING ABILITY The, following letter was received this morning from Leo Morrissey, the crack lightweight from Idaho Falls, stating -his desire to help mako the boxing game clean in this city and show he is a better man than the present crop of lightweights in this section: "Sporting Editor, Ogden Standard: I am going to stay in Ogden, and try and meet ahd defeat everyone that Al Young has met hero, just to show the fans, 'and -my friends, that I am as good or better than Young. I am , a good looser, but hate to have a decision given against me when the people who spend their money to sec a bout think, that I didn't get a square deal. "Jf Young or any other lightweight would beat me, I would know it and would 'shake' and say you aro tho better man; but I don't figure that I have been defeated yet, and now I am going to show the fans that I am just as good as any lightweight in tho northwest, and am going to try to meet Kid Mex, Young, Gilbert, Chris George. Then I will box Young and have three judges to decide. I mako my living at this game and want to keep it clean. (Signed) "LEE MORRISSEY." |
