Show LOGAN SOCIETY Miss Maragret Nibley left during the week with her father, Bishop C. W. Nibley for a ten day's trip to Washington, Wash-ington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Cy Jones spent the week in Jalt Lake the guest of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Thatcher. . Dr. and Mrs. O. H. Budge spent part of the week at Paris, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Saxon were Brigham City visitors this week. Rev. and Mrs. E. T. Lewis accompanied accom-panied the scout boys of the St. John's on a week's outing trip to Bear Lake. Miss Merl Andrews, ,wl.o has been the guest of Miss Lettie Thatcher for a week, has returned to her home in Mammoth, Utah. Miss Helen Thatcher spent part of the week with friends in Ogden. C. S. McAIister of Ogden was a business bus-iness visitor here the latter part o the week. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Hendrickson and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Naisbet and children will spend the next two weeks at Fish Haven, Bear Lake. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Hatch and family fam-ily and Mr. and Mrs. Asa Bullen have moved to their cottage in Logan canyon can-yon for the summer. Mr. R. S. McAIister and two daughters, daugh-ters, Florence and Francis, and Miss Francis Richards of Clyde, Ohio, motored mo-tored to Salt Lake Sunday for a week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Shamhart and daughters left Friday for a week's trip to Bear Lake. Mrs. Hyrum Nebeker is the guest for several weks of President and Mrs. E. G. Peterson. Miss Zella Smart who has spent the past three months in San Francisco taking the course in nurse training, is spending a few weeks in the canyon with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Smart. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beers of Champaign, Cham-paign, 111., who are spending the summer sum-mer with Mrs. Beers' parents at Bear Lake, were visitors in Logan during the week. s Mr. and Mrs. Horace Nebeker will return to Logan on the 15th to spend the summer. I - I Dr. and Mrs. . W. Porter and family fam-ily will leave next week for Berkeley, Cal., where the doctor has accepted a position at the university. Miss Anville Wooley of Pocatello, was the guest this week of Miss Maragret Mar-agret Budge. Mrs. Hilda Dollar and Miss Nora Eliason entertained at a birthday dinner din-ner Sunday evening in honor of the mother, Mrs. Andrew Eliason. A crystal crys-tal basket of pink roses formed an attractive at-tractive centerpiece for the dinner table and a profusion of pink and white roses were used throughout the house, covers were laid for twelve. Miss Maragret Budge entertained informally in-formally Wednesday afternoon at a pretty Kensington lea in compliment to her guest, Miss Wooley. President and Mrs. E. G. Peterson entertained at dinner on Saturday evening in honor of Miss Henrietta Calvin of Washington, D. C. A large mound of pink roses and maiden hair ferns was used as a centerpiece for the table. Roses were used effectively effective-ly in all the house decorations. Covers were laid for twelve guests. Thursday evening Mrs. J. A. Widt-soe, Widt-soe, who has been a guest of President Presi-dent and Mrs. Peterson during the week, was the guest of honor at a dinner din-ner given on Thursday evening at the president's residence on College Hill. An attractive centerpiece was formed of pink and white roses for the table. Covers wero laid for the following guests besides the host and hostess: Mrs. J. A. Widtsoe, Attorney and Mrs. A. E. Bowen, Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Harris, Har-ris, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Green, Mrs. Harris and Hyrum Nebeker. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Saxon entertained entertain-ed at a 500 party Tuesday evening in compliment to Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Porter. Por-ter. Roses and ferns wore attractively attractive-ly arranged in all the rooms. Luncheon Lunch-eon was served at small tables decorated de-corated with the same flowers. The following guests wero present: Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Porter, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Sorenden, Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Porter, Por-ter, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Alder, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Israqlson, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Arson Madsen, Professor and Mrs. C. R. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Winter-green Winter-green and Miss Armana Maughn. The Delta PI club met Saturday afternoon af-ternoon with Miss Delia Smith. The Sorosis unit of the Red Cross will meet Monday afternoon with Mrs. Lyman Hyde at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. T. Caine II. The "Unity Cirdlo met Thursday afternoon af-ternoon at the homo of Mrs. Isaac Smith. Following the regular sewing and knitting, a dainty luncheon was served. Eighteen members were pros-ont. pros-ont. The St. John unit met Friday for their regular sewing hour at the Red Cross room in the Lowell school building. build-ing. Hendricks enter-tained enter-tained her bridgo club Wednesday afternoon af-ternoon at her home on West First North street. The rooms and tea tablo were attractively decorated in Shasta daisies. Besides the club members the invited guests wero present: Mrs. Ly. man Hyde, Mrs. Carl Smart .and Mrs. Frank Thatcher. The Thursday Bridge club met Thursday-afternoon with Mrs. Clyde Squires. Mrs. George Thatcher was the invited guest for the afternoon. Mrs. N. A. Peterson was hostess at an enjoyable Kensington Wednesday afternoon in compliment to Mrs. C. W. Porter. The Normal Music class presented nuiwiiuiu. rmiay evening on uie college col-lege campus. The following is the cast: Miss Olena Smith, Miss Hol-man, Hol-man, Kenneth Bird, Antone Peterson and J. S. Young. Mrs. Johnson's class presented several pretty fancy dances and Miss E. Johnson danced the fawn dance. Miss Sara Huntsman's classes in play production presented two one-act plays in the college chapel Friday to a very appreciative audience. "The Shadow of the Glen," by Synge, and "The Mothers" by Mrs. Ellis were given. Summer school at the U. A. C. closes today. oo |
