Show GREAT WESTERN ' HARNESS RACES, OMAHA, Neb., Aug. 21. The Great) Western harness races were Intro-1 duced to Omaha today, with an attrac-, tive program, including two pacing and two trotting races. Twenty-five ; horses were scheduled to start in the, four events, and they included somei of the speediest in the country. I The principal race is the free-fbr-all I pace. Ben Earl, last year's champion' and biggest prize winner, was the fa- vorite. The other races were the Ak-Sar-Ben stake for 2:22 trotters, Bingen Silk stake for 2-year-old trotters and the Castle Hotel stake for 2-year-old pacers. PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 21. Three events, the Hotel Adelphia stake of $3000 for 2:10 pacers, the Directors' stake of $1000 for 2:20 trotters and thei 2:13 trot for a purse of $1000, were on1 tho Grand Circuit program at Nar-berth Nar-berth today. Twelve horses, including includ-ing several of tho fastest pacers developed de-veloped this season, were entered in the Hotel Adelphia stake, the feature event of the daj. |
