Show II An interesting announcement was i' made last night when news of the mar-I mar-I riago of one of Ogdens popular girls came as a surprise to her coterie of friends. The marriage -was solemnized at Colorado Col-orado Springs and united Miss Ruby Wotherspoon and E. Grey Freemonde. Mrs. Freemonde is the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Woth-erspoon Woth-erspoon of 4-10 Twenty-first street and comes from one of the best known pi- oneer families of Ogden The late Hon-; Hon-; orable Lorin Fair, Ogden's first mayor $rand distinguished citizen was her P . grandfather. BENNETT A most pleasant and unique surprise party was tendered Mr. George D. Bennett," Ben-nett," superintendent of the Metropolitan Metropol-itan Life Insurance company, at his home on Van Buren avenue Saturday evening, August IS, by the members of his staff and office force, In honor of his birthday. Forty-two guests were present The out-of-town guests were W. T. Gidney of Brigham City, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Woods of Idaho Falls, formerly of Ogden, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bybeo of Kaysville. Special music was furnished by Miss Mario Pantone, Miss Grace Tout and Mrs. James A. Wood. A pleasant program pro-gram was enjoyed, such as muBlc and games, and a delightful luncheon was served. The special feature of the evening was the presentation of a gold watch fob to Superintendent Bennett as a token of the high esteem and regard in which ho is held by his employes. The toastmaster was Deputy Superintendent Superin-tendent C. H. Flinders. The rooms were beautifully decor, ated with fragrant bouquets of sweet peas. A most delightful evening was enjoyed by everyone present. MOTORS TO OGDEN Mrs. C. M. Sendlein motored up from Salt Lake with her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. John West, who reside in McGill, Nov. They spent a few days with friends, returning Monday Mon-day to their homes. |
