TD BE PLflGED n SHE OF OLD STfiOGTURE One by one, the old frame structures struc-tures that have bound Ogden's progressive pro-gressive business" district to a past era are being displaced by modern buildings of brick and stone. The latest to give way to the march of progress is the building at 2309-2311 Washington avenue, recently occupied by the Success Meat Market and the Clipper Barber shop and, in time past, the homo of many other business firms. The building, which was owned own-ed by the Dr. Perkins' estate, is now being torn down and a structure of brick is to be erected on the site by George Whitmeyer & Sons' contractors. contrac-tors. The improvement on the property is being made by joint arrangement between Howard Goddard, proprietor of the Bank Smokery, and tho Perkins estate, whereby tho former will obtain ob-tain a lease on the new building. The building will have a frontage of 30 feet and a depth of 85 feet and will be one story in height, with a full basement. It is to bo re-occupied by the Success Meat Market and tho Clipper Barber shop when completed. |
