Show MUCH CITY WORK TO BE LET TO LOCAL CONTRACTORS On the recommendation of Commissioner Commis-sioner T Samuel Browning, the board of city commissioners last night increased in-creased the salaries of the two chauffeurs chauf-feurs of the public safety department to $90 a month The present chauffeurs chauf-feurs are Guy Nelson and Earl Wiggins Wig-gins Bids for construction of curb and putter 114 were received from the J. P. O'Neill Construction company, In the sum of 12.407.9.., and from the Wheelwright Construction company lor 13,565.68. C K. Read of Salt Lake also bid for the work but the total amount of the bid was not given by the contractor Bids for curb and gutter in district dis-trict 115 were also received, the O'Neill company bidding $1686.92 and the Wheelwright company $l.f65.90. The bids were all relerred to tho city engineer for computation. It was reported by the city recorder that there were no protests against sewer improvement In district 126. The engineer was instructed to pre pare plans and specifications for the Improvement, and also draw a resolution reso-lution of notice of intention. The recorder re-corder also reported that protests had heen made against sewer building In districts 124 and 126, but that the citj has jurisdiction in the premise The protests against sewer 124 were ordered placed on file, and those against district 125 were referred to I the engineer for consideration.
