Show SILL THE DOLLAR BE ABOVE TRE MAN? Editor Standard: Ever since Mr. Bryan made his "Cross of Gold" speech, at tho Democratic convention conven-tion in Chicago, the burden of his contention goes on. "Shall the dollar bo above the man?" Words have ceased to bo effective; events are speaking now. Watch them. The fight is on. Who will win, the dollar or tho man? Fortunately for the American peo-plo, peo-plo, the common people, their government gov-ernment Is emphatically on the side of the people. On the one side men, women and children; on the other stocks, bonds and dollars at that, but largely foreign. Maybe the railway strike Is a bloss-Ing bloss-Ing In disguise. The crisis is here; been coming a long while, is due, and on schedule time, and ought to make the right connection. But will the right connection bo made, and on tho right track, coupled to the light engine, tho right engineer and fireman, or will we got on the wrong track and have a smaBh-up Choose quickly. No time to halt between opinions. "If the dollar is the living force, let's have the dollar. If the man, lot's have the man. One Ih a living issue; the other deader than tho dead. The old, old story. God Almighty or Baal; Elijah or Jezebel. Vox pop-uli, pop-uli, vox del. (Signed) C. V. B RANTING. nn- |
