Utah National Guards, dan the local members of the National Rifle and Revolver association, has just been completed and will be used for the first time next Sunday it Is located on the foothills, one mile north of North Ogden and was built by local lo-cal people, under contract with the government. The range is equipped with loon yard targets and hat? firing points at ' every 100 yards It also has a club house and an underground telephone system, by which the result of each ' j phot can immediately be announced j from the target pit-Company pit-Company R is at present working nn the selection of representatives j of the 21-man team which will rep-! rep-! iesent the state at Jacksonville, Fla., this summer in the national tourna mcnt It i6 thought that the local company will furnish the majority of the men. The company held Its regular drill last night at the armory' and was visited vis-ited by Lieut. William B. Wallace, In specter-instructor of the National r;uard of Utah. Lieut Wallace has been detailed by the war department for duty as instructor at the camp of instruction for officers and non commissioned officers of the national guard of California, at Santa Cruz, rrom June fi to 16th lie will leave Utah about June 1st to fill the commission. |
