Show oo LOCAL SOCCER TE1 MEETS II DEFEAT The Ogden soccer team was defeated defeat-ed yesterday afternoon, on the Glen-wood Glen-wood park grounds, by the Caledonian team of Salt Lake. The score was 4 to 3 and the game proved highly interesting in-teresting to the fans who braved the Inclement weather to go to the park. Despite the heavy field, the game was fast. Ogden started the scoring when Kinner, from a perfect center by Jenkinson, shot the first goal. Shortly afterward, Parsons accepted his opportunity and made the second score. The Caledonians thon braced and J. Hawthorne, the star forward of the game, counted (he first point for the visitors with a great shot. Working Work-ing smoothly with hsi fellow forward, Gain, Hawthorne quickly made another an-other goal, tieing with the locals. The third goal, which sent the Callles ahead, was made by Gain, from a woll-placed free kick by R. Hawthorne. Haw-thorne. Tho first half ended shortly afterward. In the second half, Jenkinson and his men made a desperate endeavor to get through the Caledonian's defense, de-fense, but failed before the Callies got the ball. With the play transferred, J. Major look the ball down on the right, making a neat cross to Thompson, Thomp-son, who beat Saunders with a quick shot. Ogden next got away on the left and a terrific shot from Jenkin-son's Jenkin-son's boot, was saved by Porter. On another try, Jenkinson put across a fine center to Parsons, who beat Porter Por-ter all the way and scored. The lineup follows: Caledonians. Ogden.
