Show MICHIGAN VOTE G0INGT01GHES Republican Plurality Growing Sweeping Prohibition Victory Vic-tory in State Is Recorded. Detroit, Mich., Nov. 8. The plur-ity plur-ity of Charles E. Hughes over Wood-row Wood-row Wilson in Michigan amounted to nearly 25,000 this afternoon when returns re-turns from about one-half of the state's precincts were compiled. Hughes' plurality was constantly growing grow-ing and Republican leaders claimed he would carry Michigan by more than 40,000. Returns from 10,065 precincts, in-cludinf in-cludinf 52 of Wayne county, In which Detroit is located, gave Hughes 155,-118 155,-118 and Wilson 130,8S4. The sweeping victory of the prohibition prohibi-tion forces was emphasized by today's returns. The majority for the statewide state-wide amendment was more than 60,-000 60,-000 and a large majority had boen recorded re-corded againBt the home rule amendment. |
