Show M CITY CONTEST GOES TO CAPITAL OF THE STATE By a narrow margin of 2 1-2 points, Ogden was defeated in the 1915 "clean city" contest by Salt Lake City. The defeat, according to the tabulated re port of the judges, is atrributed to the lack of proper facilities for sewage sew-age disposal. While the local sanitary sani-tary inspector and deputies do not dispute dis-pute the records, they are Inclined to think that had the judges made their inspection earlier in the season, as was done in Salt Lake City, the records rec-ords would have told a different story. Instead, tho inspection of Ogden was only recently completed, being made at a time when the leaves were on the ground, the city being thus taken at a disadvantage. With regard to conditions of the food and water supply and of cleanliness cleanli-ness about the homes, vacant lots, parks and streets, and in home sanitation, sani-tation, Ogden was found to have a wide margin of. superiority.
