Zltting, who died in Ogden, If Jl December 1, 1915, at the ago of 75 Kl years, of pneumonia, having been 111 Kjl only a few days, has been written for BH the Standard. During her illness Mrs. PH Zltting waB nursed by her daughter Prfl Mrs. Cecelia Grow. r'll Mrs. Zltting was born In Copenhag- f 'M en, Denmark, January 9, 1840, the m M daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervolder. As at, H a child she aided her parents in mak- H Ing a living for the family. The moth- Pl'. er died when the child was only 13 'fiH years old. Mrs. Zittlng lived with her il aunt after she graduated from school Il at the age of 15 years. After this 'I'll time she worked for her own support, fijl joining the Mormon church in the j jH course of a few years. It was against jj M her father's will that she joined the (ijl church, and It was necessary for her IIH to walk a long distance over the Ice H to the place of baptism, at midnight f! H in January. She afterwards worked t 11 hard to earn money to pay her way h jH to Utah, leaving home for this coun- lH try in -he spring of 1862. She was ' jH ten v, s on the ocean, and crossed vl the plains with ox teams. She walked a good deal of the way and endured ll many hardships, arriving in Salt Lake I'l in September of the same year. j jH Mrs. Zltting became acquainted i jH with Julia M. Grow in Salt Lake ana ilfjl worked In that city for a number of Vfil months. April 26, 1863, she married IHH Carl A, Zltting who made the pipes I'iH for tho Salt Lake Tabernacle organ. li'l In 1869 Mr. and Mrs. Zltting moved ftH to Harrisvlllo whero they took up a ff H homestead. Her husband died In 1896, h M when she and her youngest daughter J; H moved to Idaho. They returned to fJ'H Ogden In 1910, Mrs. Zltting aiding in liH caring for her grandchildren. Psl Mrs. Zltting Is survived by five irfH children, 2- grand children and two T'-fl great grand children. Her children's jt1! nameB are Charles J. Zittlng, Wllhel- Ifll mlna E. WInterrose. August F.
