Petterson of the countv schools states that In most of the school districts of the county contagious diseases are under control and that It has not been neeessnn-to neeessnn-to close the schools except for two ', days in thr Uinta district, where a , few casoS of diphtheria developed The cases wore not severe and there I was no rry great danger of infection, but it was deemed advisable by the j schoolmen and the health officers to closo the school long enough to give the building a thorough fumigation. At the present time there are manv ( cases of chlekenpox In the Slater-vllle Slater-vllle and Warren districts, but a stru it quarantine is beinc exercised and it will not be necessary to close the schools In different parts of the county, cases of mumps have appeared, hilt the disease has been checked to the extent that nnn of thp schools hare closed on account of it At Wilson whooplngcougfa at one time threaten ed quite serious results, but the spread of the disease was checked by quarantine. Mr Petterson will leave Ogden next Thursday to attend the National Teachers' convention In Cincinnati, beginning February 22.
