Show mm avoids a SPUING BY THE DOUSE Salt Lake, Jan 2o When the house met today, Rep. Nebeker moved that the serg-eant-at-arras be ordered to proceed to bring Parley P. Christ-ensen Christ-ensen to the bar. Mr. Chrlstensen has been absent ever since he was defeated defeat-ed for tho speakership. The speaker notified the house that it required fifteen members of tho house to make the request, and immediately im-mediately even- one In the house stood up in favor of the motion. When Chrlstensen learned what had been done, he Immediately phoned to announce that he would proceed to the house without being forced to do SO. A special tax committee, made up of Thornley and Hansen of the senate sen-ate and Hickley, Mabey and Morris of the house, is preparing a bin which will provide for a reduction of the state tax levy to 15 mills, to be graded by counties, with a maximum tax of 14 mills in cities, all propertv to be assessed at cash value. The bill Is to be made a part measure and pushed through both houses. oo |
