Show THREE ARE ARRAIGNED BEFORE JUDGE OF DISTRICT COURT This morning, in the district court, before Judge N. J. Harris, Ralph Carr and J. B. Hinkley were arraigned on the charged of forgery', but the time for taking their pleas was continued con-tinued until tomorrow morning, at 10 oclock, to permit their attorneys to appear for them. Mr. Hinkley stated that he had employed an attorney and the court appointed Wade Johnson John-son to defend Carr, who stated that he had no means, but desired the sen ices of a lawyer. Carr is charged with the forgery of the name of Joe Pignon to a check January 4, 1915, and the information against Hinkley charges him with forging the name of B. S. Hlgley to a check December 26. 1914. George Thenos. a Greek, charged with robbery and grand larceny, was also arraigned but his plea will not be taken until tomorrow morning, owing to his attorney not be In court this morning. In the information it iiS alleged that Thenos, on November 15, 1914, held up and robbed J. G. Hallas of a watch and chain, valued at $50. It is claimed that the defendant de-fendant used a revolver in the holdup. He stated that he had employed a lawyer to defend him but that he was not in court. sr |
