Show COFFIN COMPANY FOUND GUILTY Convicted in Federal Court of Shipping Bottles of Whiskey Whis-key Out of State in Coffins. Chattanooga. Tenn., Nov. 23. The Tennessee Coffin and Casket company and Frank Fox, Its shipping clerk, were convicted in the federal court today of shipping whiskey In coffins to adjoining states without proper labeling. la-beling. C, D. Betlerton. president of the company, who is also police chief of Chattanooga; L. C. Mylius. superintendent superin-tendent of the company, and A. G. Smith, a salesman, were acquitted. Betterton denied knowledge of tho fact. Tho government contended It was tho company's custom to onclose bottles bot-tles of whiskey to those who bought coffins. oo . . |
